The Official Rules!

The pick sheet:

  • Each correct pick will be worth one point.
  • If you choose, you can make ONE and only one pick per week worth two points. This will be indicated by checking the 'Double-Up' box for the pick. If you make that pick, you will get two points for the pick instead of the standard one point. However, if you miss that pick, you will have one point REMOVED from your total score. Pick wisely!
  • Picks are straight up, unless otherwise noted as a special pick, outlined below.
  • Games resulting in ties are not scored.
  • Multiple picks are allowed and encouraged! Each Pick requires a $5 buy-in.
  • Picks noted as Over/Under picks are scored against the total points in the game. The Over/Under points will be displayed as a decimal to avoid tie breaker situations
  • Picks noted as being against the spread are scored against the favored team. They will be displayed with a negative point value next to their name. The favored team will need to score more points than the point spread value against their opponent to make the pick a winning pick. For instance, if the team has a point spread of -3.5, and they beat the opponent team by 4 points, they have beaten the spread. If they beat their opponent by 3 points, the have not beaten the spread. If the opponent team wins, they have not beaten the spread. The point spread values will be displayed as a decimal to avoid tie breaker situations
  • Playoff and Superbowl weeks will have special proposition bets. Pay close attention to these bets to select the correct winner.

Buy-ins and submissions:

  • Each submission must be submitted with a $5.00 buy-in.
  • For weeks with Thursday Night games, the pick sheet and buy-ins are due on Thursday night at 5pm PST.
  • For Thanksgiving week, the pick sheet and buy-ins are due 11:59:00pm PST on the Wednesday night before Thanksgiving.
  • For weeks with Sunday-only games, the pick sheet and buy-ins are due on Saturday night at 11:59:00pm PST.
  • It is not the admin's responsibility to hunt down payments, and we may not send reminders to those who haven't paid. There are no exceptions to this!
  • Picks that do not have buy-ins will not be displayed on the Master Sheet, and are not eligible to win. Non-paying players will not be notified.

Tie Breakers:

  • Each week will have 3 Tie Breakers. They will usually be the Monday Night game, the Sunday Night game, and a third game.
  • The Tie Breaker will be the total points scored for the indicated games.
  • The total points scored will be in whole number increments only. No '23.5' or '24.75' submissions are allowed.
  • If a Tie Breaker fails to determine a winner, the next Tie Breker is invoked.
  • All Tie Breakers will be decided by the final score of the specified game. The winner of the Tie Breaker will be the person that picks the total points scored without going over. For example: If the total points scored for the Monday night game is 23, and you picked 24, you lost the tiebreaker becuase you pikced over. If you picked 23, then you win. If somebody else picked 23, then the next Tie Breker is invoked.
  • If the Tie Breaker cannot determine the winner, then then next Tie Breaker will be invoked. Only the players that were not excluded by the Tie Breaker are considered for the next Tie Breaker. For instance, if players A and B picked the exact same score, and tied on a Tie Breaker, but Player C picked over, then only players A and B are considerded for the next Tie Breaker.
  • If there is still a Tie after all three Tie Breakers, then the pot is split amongst the tied players from Tie Breaker #3.

General:

  • Pre- and Post-Season picks may have different rules and picking strategies. They will be included in that week's email and posted in the forums

Winners:

  • The Winner takes the entire pot, minus PayPal fees. No admin fees are removed from the pot. You're welcome!
  • The Winner is decided by the person with the most points for the week or the person that wins via the Tie Breakers outlined above.
  • If there is a tie-breaker situation that cannot resolve a single winner, the pot is split between any final tie-breaker winners.
